Time to Stock Up Your Jewellery Collection!

The elegance of ethnic attire does not really shine through that strikingly if it is not adorned with matching jewellery. One can be dressed to perfection in their bellowing anarkalis and ravishing silk sarees, but if the matching jewellery is missing, the charm of the attire is lost in the incompleteness. But accessorise the dress up with a stunning pair of jhumkas or chandelier earrings and there you go - the magic of the dress comes alive. There's no doubt that jewellery plays a major part in accentuating the beauty of a dress and the right kind of jewellery can take one's fashion and style quotient notches higher.

Recently, while shopping online for ethnic wear for my cousin's wedding, I was besotted by the gorgeous suits and sarees collection at Craftsvilla. After I was done short-listing the items I liked, it was time to go hunting for matching jewellery, and as I had assumed all along the website's jewellery section did not disappoint me.  From earrings, maangtikas, necklaces and anklets to armlets (bajubands), nose-pins and toe-rings, Craftsvilla jewellery section has an exhaustive range of jewellery items to pick from! Within 5 minutes of browsing the jewellery section I was confused about what to buy and what to leave out!

To say that Craftsvilla's jewellery collection is stunning would be an understatement. In almost all the sections, there's whole range of patterns and styles to pick from and a shopper can pick from anything under Rs. 500 to over Rs. 5000 as per their budget. Browsing through the necklace category, I was left mesmerised by the collection there - from coral beads and shell pearls to oxidised silver plated and traditional south Indian designs, all popular varieties of necklaces are listed on the website. Trust me trying shopping from here and you will spoilt for choices, thanks to the innumerable options!

The offbeat jewellery collection on Craftsvilla is no less enticing. I was particularly awed by this striking oxidised brass designer necklace and for just Rs. 500, it's a steal actually! Most of the items in this category have attractive discounts, in fact there's almost 50% discount on some stunning designer items. So if you are looking at stocking up on your jewellery collection for the festive season ahead, you know where to shop from!

 Happy shopping!

Go Ethnic with Craftsvilla!

Fancy maxi gowns, lacy dresses, smart jumpsuits and curve-hugging denims - when it comes to dressing up, the modern Indian woman today have no dearth of options in her wardrobe. From office parties to excursions with family and friends, she has her sartorial sense sorted to the tee. To add extra zing to her fashion sense, she's ready to experiment as well - mixing designs and patterns, colours and prints and bringing together a beautiful amalgamation of different styles.

But when it comes to festivities, nothing can steer us away from our choicest ethnic wear collection. Dressed in our finest sarees, lehengas and suits, we make the festivities come alive with our bright and beautiful desi attire. No glamorous western wear can match the inherent charm and elegance that our ethnic wears exude and this is the reason they will never go out of fashion.

A few days ago, while browsing through the many online stores to buy a couple of ethnic dresses for my cousin's wedding, I was awed by the exquisite collection at Craftsvilla - a leading platform for ethnic products. From sarees, lehengas, salwar suits and other ethic clothing items to matching jewellery, footwear bags and accessories, the website is a one stop shop for all things ethnic.

To say that Craftsvilla's collection is stunning would be an understatement. In the saree section, there's whole range of price, fabric and style pick from and a shopper can pick from anything under Rs. 500 to over Rs. 5000 as per their budget. And when it comes to the various category listing of sarees, browse through them and I am sure the exhaustive collection would leave you confused about which one to pick, for from Banarsi, bandhani, silk, cotton silk, Kanchivaram and Jacquard to handwoven and heavy work sarees, all popular varieties are listed on the website.

The salwar suit collection on Craftsvilla is no less enticing. I was particularly awed by the gorgeous designer salwar suits and the icing on the cake is the heavy discount that is offered on most of the items! There's more than 50% discount on some stunning designer salwar suits and with a Rs. 5000 worth of salwar suit available for as low as Rs. 2000, it's a steal actually! So if you are looking at stocking up on ethnic wear for the festive season ahead, you know where to shop from. Make sure you make the most of the attractive discounts on offer.

Happy shopping!

Pearl Academy Portfolio 2015 - a Fashion Extravaganza

Creativity, fashion and glamour...the coming together of these three elements makes for an eye catching extravaganza, and in the week gone by, I got an interesting opportunity to cover one such intricately planned and executed extravaganza - Portfolio 2015, the annual graduating event of the renowned Pearl Academy. Held at NSIC Exhibition Ground, Okhla, New Delhi, Pearl Academy Portfolio 2015 marked the entry of trained students into the professional realm of creative businesses. Spread across 3 days, the event had lots of fashion and fun packed together, with graduating students not just putting up their best creations on display but also sharing their vision about their area of expertise. And icing on the Portfolio 2015 cake was the presence of ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra, who graced the event with his presence and shared words of professional wisdom with the graduating students.

Day 1 at Portfolio 2015 was spent taking in the engaging catalogues, art pieces and captivating designer items created by the students from all the graduating batches across the 4 schools of the Pearl Academy - School of Fashion, Styling and Textiles; School of Communication, Media & Film; School of Design; and School of Creative Business.

This exhibition put together by the students was a treat for the eyes - from lovely clothes with beautiful patterns and motifs, to quirky stationary items to recycled products, every single exhibit had something unique to offer.

While the designer clothes had everyone yearning to own them, other artistic creations were no less attractive. There were a lot of items that were high on the quirk element - coffee mugs, cushions, little trinkets and home décor display items were some such stuff that caught everyone's fancy. Besides these various innovative art installations too kept the visitors engaged.

Day 2 of Portfolio 2015 was all about panel discussions, grand fashion shows and of course the Guest of Honour, designer Manish Malhotra. The excitement about his visit was pretty apparent and when he finally arrived to address the students, it was a proud moment for both the students and the faculty. A superbly put-together fashion show was what followed next where students got the opportunity to showcase their designing talent before Manish Malhotra.

At Portfolio 2015, while the creative brilliance of graduating students left everyone mesmerised, their passion and professional approach towards the event and towards putting the exhibits together was something that impressed me the most. Indeed this professionalism together with their innate creativity and training at Pearl Academy will go a long way in establishing them as successful professionals in their chosen fashion domain.

Cute & Colourful Car Stole from Rooja

My last post was about this awesome online store Rooja, that has an exhaustive collection of apparel and accessories for both men and women. And here in this post I list two of my favourite items that I got from Rooja.

As I shared in my last post, I wore these on the show Nano Drive with MTV Season 2, and it gave me a nice colourful break from the boring t-shirts and  jeans routine.  So here's my favouritest accessory from my Rooja collection - my car stole!

Cute, colourful car stole!
I wore this one to my heart's content, for it looks stylish and the fabric feels super soft on the skin. And it's colour - peachy pink - is vibrant, without being too bright for the eyes!

Here are some more pics with me sporting my car stole! Hope you like them!

Coming up next is another favourite from the Rooja store! Stay tuned! :)

Falling for Fashion, Courtesy Rooja

I am not a fashionista. Far from it. In fact on a very honest note, I am not even fashion forward. Most of my shopping trips end up with my bag full of T-shirts and pairs of jeans. Or some girly tops once-in-a-while.
But not any more. For I am discovering fashion, (yes, yes, discovering) thanks to the fun, colourful and exhaustive collection at Rooja - an online store for luxury designer apparel and accessories.

One stop shop for fun shopping!

Like I said, I am a novice when it comes to fashion,  but then I am gradually getting inspired to look beyond the boring  T-shirts with philosophical quotes . And it was while browsing the many online shopping stores that I came across Rooja. What makes it it different is the exhaustive collection of national and international brands - Italy, France, USA, Belgium, UK - they have stuff from almost everywhere!

The MANY Brands

Plus the collection on this website is exhaustive - from clothes to shoes, bags, watches and other accessories, quirky stuff for home decor and hundreds of other fancy knick-knacks, you will find it all here, and that too in fun, bright colours. (I love colours!) And if the men reading this are a tad disappointed with all the girly-girly stuff being talked about, then you can take heart for this store has some uber cool stuff for you too - right from witty t-shirts to wallets and funky accessories to gear you up in style.

Fun stuff for the men too
And now for those who are wondering why I am waxing eloquent about the worth coveting stuff from Rooja, it is because I have bought some good stuff from this store, and want to show appreciation for their excellent service! And also because I wore some of their stuff on the show Drive with MTV Season 2 and it was fun sporting some fashionable stuff for a change! The next post lists what I bought!

P.S. - This is NOT a sponsored post.
